Whoopi Goldberg Told President Trump to Try Waterboarding — Now a CIA Interrogator is Returning Fire

After “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg suggested that President Donald Trump should undergo waterboarding, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) interrogator said that maybe Goldberg should go overseas as an interrogator.

Dr. James Mitchell, who interrogated Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, made those comments after Goldberg indicated that Trump couldn’t assess whether waterboarding worked unless he tried it himself.

Watch Mitchell’s interview below:

“I think people who have actually been tortured who are saying this is not a good thing, you should listen to them because you have never been tortured,” she told Trump on Thursday.

“The View” was discussing Gina Haspel, Trump’s nominee for CIA Director, who encountered scrutiny over her involvement in enhanced interrogation.

But as Mitchell pointed out, Goldberg may not have enough experience to judge interrogation programs.

“Who cares what Whoopi Goldberg thinks?” he asked “Fox and Friends” host Pete Hegseth on Saturday before adding”

Next time there is credible intelligence of another catastrophic attack, with the potential to kill thousands of people in the United States, maybe she can go to some unsafe place in the world and interrogate the terrorist and I’ll stay back home. I’ll stay safe with my family, and I’ll criticize her like she criticized us.

He went on to argue that Trump would obviously view waterboarding differently.

“A strong-willed man like Donald Trump, if he’s exposed to the waterboard[ing], he is not going to think like Whoopi Goldberg thinks,” he said. “He may see it’s harshness and think that’s exactly what we need.”

Mitchell recalled how he waterboarded an assistant attorney general who said afterwards that the technique was not only legal, it wasn’t torture.

Watch Haspel’s hearing:

Mitchell, a psychologist, speculated that Goldberg was “preening” and “value signalling” to show she was “morally superior” to CIA interrogators.

Mitchell added that while waterboarding was “off-the-table now,” “you can bet your ass” the president would consider waterboarding if terrorists had a nuclear weapon.
