Student Demanding Gun Control Curses Out His Congressman — Gets Slapped With Two-Day Suspension

Nevada student Noah Christensen called his congressman’s office to demand he support banning bump stocks and raising the minimum age to purchase firearms — and he dropped the f-bomb to make his point.

CNN reports Christensen has since conceded that he could have used better language instead of telling Rep. Mark Amodei’s (R-N.V.) office to “get off their f**king asses.” The staffer who answered his call then informed Christensen’s school, resulting in a two-day suspension for “disrespectful behavior/language.”

“I totally understand that’s not the wording I should have used but it’s still my right to use that word,” he told KOLO.

According to Amodei’s office, Christensen was the only person to use profane language despite receiving hundreds of other calls relating to gun control that day.

Despite apologizing for his choice of words, Christensen actually wants an apology from both the school district and Amodei, in addition to being reinstated to his position on the student council. He also wants the suspension to be removed from his record.

“Respectfully no. I’m not going to apologize,” Amodei said. “I’m not willing to apologize because he exercised his First Amendment rights how he saw fit and my guy decided to do the same thing.”

The ACLU of Nevada has gotten involved on Christensen’s behalf.

“They violated the law and the violated his rights and his viewpoint,” ACLU policy director Holly Welborn told KOLO.
