Forget Firing! One Report Claims Trump Has EVEN BIGGER Plans for Mueller

Please, please, PLEASE let this be true!

According to a new report, President Trump is considering asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions to prosecute special counsel Robert Mueller.

NBC News reported Tuesday, citing one anonymous Trump adviser, the president has been “talking to friends about the possibility of asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions to consider prosecuting Mueller and his team.”

According to the Trump adviser, the president is working toward discrediting the ongoing investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, and instead of outright firing Mueller, Trump is mulling over requesting Sessions to prosecute the special counsel.

“Here’s how it would work: ‘We’re sorry, Mr. Mueller, you won’t be able to run the federal grand jury today because he has to go testify to another federal grand jury,’” the Trump adviser told NBC News.

A friend of Trump also told the news network the president is “convinced that firing Mueller would not only create a firestorm, it would play right into Mueller’s hands, because it would give Mueller the moral high ground.”

Trump appeared enthusiastic recently when asked if he’d sit for an interview with Mueller’s team.

“I would love to do [the interview], and I would like to do it as soon as possible,” the president told reporters. “I would do it under oath, absolutely.”

However, Republicans have been pressuring the president to be less cooperative with the investigation, some even proposing Trump fire Mueller.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie urged the president Tuesday to refuse to sit for an interview with Mueller.

“Robert Mueller is not someone to be trifled with,” Christie, a former federal prosecutor, said. “I don’t think there’s been any credible allegations against the president of the United States.”
