Dems Are Turning On Each Other. Schiff Just Threw Pelosi Right Under the Bus

The Daily Caller reported that California Democratic Representative Adam Schiff confirmed that the Democratic Party’s memo had to be scrubbed for sources and methods.

Schiff confirming this completely goes against Nancy Pelosi’s claim that the delay was because of President Trump working on a cover-up. Schiff then criticized former President Barack Obama for his lack of response to cyber warfare.

The White House has had issues with the Democrats’ “rebuttal memo” about the surveillance of President Trump’s associates. The document could disclose” sources and methods.”

Schiff explained during a newsmaker’s breakfast meeting on Wednesday which was sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, “We need to go through that and identify that which remains classified and would implicate sources and methods or investigative interests.”

Schiff’s comments totally went against what Pelosi had previously stated.

White House counsel Don McGahn released a statement on Friday saying that Trump was “inclined” but “unable” to declassify the Democrat’s 10-page memo since it “contains numerous properly classified and especially sensitive passages.”

After McGahn’s statement, Pelosi was quoted saying, “President Trump’s refusal to release Intelligence Committee Democrats’ memo is a stunningly brazen attempt to cover up the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal from the American people.”

The memo is simply an attempt at countering the four-page memo that was released by California Republican and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.

The Nunes memo confirms that the FBI had used the unverified Trump dossier in an application in front of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. The FISA court issued a warrant to spy on an unpaid advisor to the Trump campaign, Carter Page, because of the document.

Schiff seemed to backtrack when it came to the Trump-Russia collusion issue. He stated that the Democrats’ definition of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was a lot lower than any possible criminal acts that were being reviewed by Robert Mueller and his special counsel.

Schiff told reporters, “I’ve never said there was proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Our responsibility is not determining what can be proved to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt. Our responsibility is to tell the country as much as we’ve been able to learn.”

Schiff had criticized Barack Obama for his failures to impose a “deterrent” against hostile countries whose focus was to push cyber attacks against the private sector during the election.

Schiff stated, “I think the Obama administration should have done more to establish a deterrent when it had the opportunity. I was urging back when the North Koreans hacked Sony that we establish a deterrent then. I feared if we didn’t, not only would the North Koreans be back, but others would take a lesson from this that cyber-hacking and attacking is a freebie. There’s no consequence.”

The Democratic Party is falling apart, and it doesn’t seem that there’s anything anyone can do to stop it.
